“We seek to utilize Northside’s core strengths as academic and
technological leaders in CPS in order to realize the 21st century classroom. Our vision will be fulfilled when our ability to innovate and our capacity to accelerate learning provides the basis for a model that will impact every child at CPS.” -Barry Rodgers, Principal, Northside College Preparatory High School.
Program Goals & Outcomes - Our goal is to leverage pen-based, mobile computing to increase student learning in the following ways:
Global Inquiry and Collaboration — Extending the learning experience beyond the confines of the classroom by leveraging tablet technology to solve problems, evaluate information, and disseminate work efficiently;
Adaptive Instruction — Providing immediate feedback to both students and instructor about student understanding during direct instruction and class work, enabling the instructor to adjust course material in real time;
Digital Portfolio Assessment — Enriching student assessment by including examples of student work to existing student performance data;
Unlocking Human Potential — Increasing affective engagement; that is, increasing student focus and attentiveness in class through learning that is either self-paced and individualized or collaborative and cooperative.
